Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets will delve into the story of the Duggar family and their lives behind the scenes during the filming of 19 Kids and Counting. The family became embroiled in scandals, including scandals related to their religious beliefs, that followed the Institute for Basic Life Principles (IBLP). “The teachings of the IBLP are not Christian,” says a woman in the trailer for the upcoming series. “They are something completely different.”
While this show about IBLP is interesting, it was Jill Duggar Dillard’s emotional response in the trailer that caught the attention of longtime and casual fans of the TLC alum. Tears well up in her eyes as she says, “There is a story to be told. And I’d rather be the one to say it.” Her husband, Derek Dillard, and sister, Amy Dugard-King, also appeared in the trailer.
