Special Task Force arrests wanted persons accused of drone and heroin in Punjab

Amritsar:

Punjab Police’s Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested a wanted suspect with a Chinese-made drone, 1.6 kg of heroin, a handgun and a rifle.

The accused was identified as Lakbir Singh alias Lakha.

“An operation has been launched in which we have arrested a wanted suspect named Lakbir Singh alias Bakha. A Chinese-made drone, 1.6 kg of heroin, a handgun and a rifle were found.

“During the interrogation of the accused, he revealed that for a long time he was smuggling drugs and weapons and revealed his contacts with Pakistani smugglers,” Mr. Sharma said.

According to Amritsar AIG, the drone was being used to bring in goods from Pakistan.

Further investigation is underway.

Earlier on Monday, forces from the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone carrying drugs along the international border in Amritsar in Punjab, a Bahraini security force official said.

The official said that two packages of suspected heroin were seized during the search.
